Growing up in the northern region of Ghana, David was deeply affected by the visible exclusion and poverty that many vulnerable groups faced. He saw firsthand how communities were full of potential but lacked opportunity. Determined to be part of the solution, David took a bold step he founded Skyway Trading Enterprise, not just as a business, but as a movement for empowerment and resilience.

Through Skyway, David pioneered a handicraft initiative that transforms recycled rubber, natural fibers, and other upcycled materials into vibrant, functional baskets for local and international markets. He personally led the training and mentoring of artisans over 200 to date helping many of them turn their newfound skills into reliable sources of income. These aren’t just baskets they are symbols of dignity, environmental consciousness, and economic independence.

Parallel to his work in handicrafts, David also launched a climate-smart farming venture. What began as a modest one-acre farm has grown into a 50-acre operation in Balungu, Talensi District, where vegetables, maize, and soybeans are cultivated using modern, eco-friendly methods. Under his leadership, Skyway has introduced solar-powered irrigation, drip systems, and precision agriculture tools, all while providing hands-on training to marginalized farmers. His goal is simple: to make farming not just productive, but empowering.

David’s model of leadership is inclusive, practical, and visionary. He integrates circular economy principles, design thinking, and adaptive learning into every aspect of the enterprise, ensuring that innovation drives both social and environmental impact. His belief in collaboration and community-led growth guides his approach, as Skyway continuously evolves its product lines, engages with markets, and seeks global partnerships to scale its impact.

Today, David Aniah stands as a champion of social equity and sustainability, leading a business that blends purpose with performance. He continues to advocate for greater investment in artisan tools, farm infrastructure, market access, and training programsall aimed at building a future where no one is left behind.
